I’d say that most new to Singapore would be thinking the same as you Portsdown, Christmas eve, Christmas day, boxing day, new years eve and new years day . what to do.
I am certainly thinking this, as I’ve only been here for 8 weeks, I'm sure there will be a few events happening. but I don't know of any myself.
the people I work with don't seem that fussed about the Christmas break, its all about Chinese new year for them
so no help from me, sorry, but if there are any events planned, or you have something in mind, count me in. always keen to join.
Cmon on down then to the East Coast Park 27th Dec for some food, drinks, music ? A good way to meet people... Go or no GO?

hey boys and girls
why don't we just gather at Simon's place for some food and wine on x'mas eve, then we can head out to wherever interest us. am sure it's gonna be crowded for x'mas dinner everywhere. bring food or alcohol, am sure Simon will welcome us.
p.s.: writing this as i'm sipping wine in office, in a permanent restless mode. I can't tell you how restless i am, you should see my face. can i call it a day now? don't worry i will lock the door.

Good call Byn,
Looks like Christmas eve drinks with nibbles etc is on the cards. With the number of people getting involved (which is obviously great) I think that this is probably the best route forward. As mentioned before, my place isn't huge but can probably handle people coming over for drinks. I'll ensure that there is finger food and some base drinks but if everyone could bring a bottle etc that would be good.
What sort of time is good for everyone? I was thinking maybe 7:30 8ish so that people who are working on Christmas Eve have time to get ready etc. We'll see how things go and play it by ear on when/where we head out to afterwards.
Let me know your thoughts,
Simon

no problem that your place isn't huge, we like it cosy...
7/8ish sounds good. Just give any of us a shout should you need help in preparing food. Also, remember to send email notifying us your address.
