Shipping Belongings by Sea or Air From UK to Singapore

Post by lmcfreekz » Wed, 25 Nov 2009 2:20 pm

Need to ship a couple 30 / 40KG boxes of belongings to Singapore from the UK... not furniture, just additional clothing, books etc...

Not too fussed by the means, although if air is extortionate, then I can wait 2 months for the boat to get it done...

Anybody had any experience or quotes?

An old GF recently had two 30 - 40KG boxes shipped to Malaysia from a company called Shipping to Malaysia... and it was super cheap... £34 per box by sea... but I think they only offer shipping to Malaysia...

go to parcel2go.com

I used them last year to send over a couple of boxes from the UK. Was about 25-30kg in weight and took about 3 days to here. Plus it's tracked so you can see where your stuff is visiting. They were über efficient. Oh and I think there's a couple of options to choose. I think we went with

One word of advice. List everything down on the paper for customs. I had an on-going row with Fedex, who were the main transporters, that my computer was liable for GST and therefore they tried to ram a charge down my throat.
Don't p*ss me off! I am running out of places to hide the bodies.
