Opinions and Advice required on Job Hunt in Singapore.

Post by enemi » Fri, 20 Nov 2009 8:16 am

Hi Guys,

I'm currently a student studying in a University in England.
I have been reading up on some of the previous threads posted so I believe I have the necessary requirements and details to provide to you guys in order to obtain some feedback and opinions.

I am looking to go into the Sports & Exercise Sciences careers field, which I believe is currently limited in Singapore.

There are no courses in most of the Universities available.

My personal experiences include,

- Completing a 2 month internship with Singapore National Football team in the World Cup qualifiers preparation as a shadow physiotherapist

- Currently on placement with a top flight English Premier league club doing performance analysis.

Basically, I was wondering what kind of opportunities would be available for me if I wanted to come to Singapore and does anyone know if there are any job opportunities in the Sports environment?

Looking for opinions and feedback.

Regards,
B.

The market for this in Singapore should be very narrow. Having said this, the field of suitable candidates to fill open positions for this sector might be rather narrow as well, so if you could get a job offer it might just be that your EP is approved. You must be aware of the fact that any s-league team or maybe the Singapore Slingers will pay you much much less than you are earning currently I am sure.

However as this sector is totally not my field of expertise, I am just guessing.

Thanks for the reply, was really looking for some opinions.

I have lived in Singapore for about 6 years in the past, however, went over to the UK to seek further studies in the Sports & Exercise Science field.

I am not really fixed into which route I would take, for example, there's Sports Psychology, Biomechanics, Performance Analysis, or maybe even University Lecturing.

Any further feedback is welcomed.

Regards,
B
