On a serious note, if you have a hard time meeting someone, try OkCupid.com, it's free. Although it sounds like a dating site, think of it more like a 'Facebook for singles where it's not considered creepy to message people you don't know'. Plenty of "normal" people on there, even here in Singapore. I've used it in the past and met quite a few people, some of who I still talk to and I consider good friends.
