i have been invited at short notice to an indian wedding here in singapore at an informal restaurant. she is my work colleague i have not known for very long, but we will work closely in the future.

One hundred dollar would be enough for a wedding gift. It is just a common amount of money for wedding gift. Personally, when I'm giving a money as a wedding gift, I just give them a $100, it is not so big but not so little.
