Hi Any recommendation where worth visiting to relax with only up to 3 hr driving time?
Want to go for weekend trip with 1 toddler and a baby, somewhere with kids friendly hotel and nice scenery? Just don't want to travel too far.

Malacca in Malaysia, it takes around 2-3hours from tuas custom. Nice food, shopping, places of interest.
Stay in Equatorial hotel. Walking distance from the shopping mall, nice restaurants and places of interest.

i have heard from a few locals (singaporean and malaysian) that it's quite dangerous to drive to malaysia...it's an easy ride in terms of directions - straight shot to KL, but if you break down or get a flat tire, it can be very dangerous....

probably some truth in it. lots of cowboys long the highway. doesnt help either if you driving a singaporean reg car. if you are going over, make sure your car is in excellent condition, plan your journey well and only travel during day time.
overall, it is safe.

I had the AAS and AAM numbers handy!
This year I am going to try and do the west coast, coastal route. Not sure if any of you have any tips...
For the original poster that started this thread... my internet research yielded an interesting place called Pulai Resort, it looks quite good and it looks like within a 1.5 hour drive from the Tuas crossing.
My questions... I wanted to break journey in Batu Pahat or Muar... but the hotels seemed dodgy, I will bring a car steering lock (and am looking into additional car insurance) but would hate for the car to get stolen esp since my friend got it at the low point of the market and replacement cost is high now...
Has anyone stayed at the Katerina in Batu Pahat? or know of any nice resort like places on the coast between here and Malacca?
We're only heading up to KL this time.... soon we hope to do the coastal KL to Langkawi....
