Condo Suggestions: Commuting to Suntec Plaza

Post by tigerstyle » Mon, 09 Nov 2009 10:48 pm

Hey everybody,

The wife and I are moving to Singapore from the States in a couple of months and are looking for some advice on where to live. As mentioned in the subject line, I will be working at Suntec Plaza and am looking for a place that provides an easy commute to work. From my research on this site, the East Coast neighborhoods seem to jump out as obvious choices. Would anyone be able to suggest specific condo names based on personal experience.

As far as criteria...our budget is roughly $3000-$3500 for a 2BR. Any commute between 0-30 mins is acceptable. The condo doesnt have to be near an MRT if there is shuttle bus service (to MRT or directly to Suntec). So far, we've only been looking at the East Coast. Are there any other locations that we might be overlooking? Also we don't have any kids (yet :) ) so proximity to schools etc is not a variable.

Would really appreciate any input or advice.

Thanks for your help!

If you have transport, you have many choices around Kovan, Paya Lebar, check out the KPE underground express, from Eunos to Suntec it's less than a 6 minute drive 12 in heavy traffic.

Hey tigerstyle,

I work at Suntec and live over at Tanjong Pagar. It's about a 10 minute bus ride to work which is nice in the mornings. MRT is convenient but it's like swimming upstream trying to get through all the people rushing to work and getting off at Tanjong Pagar MRT.
I was concerned with finding something close to work etc but if you want to be within 30 minutes of work you have a huge area for condo hunting. Save a few hundred bucks on the rent and you can take a cab back and forth to work every day for that money. Welcome
