Playgrounds in Holland Village vicinity

Post by liann » Mon, 09 Nov 2009 7:14 pm

Hi

Remember reading somewhere on the forum a while back about a playground in Kent Ridge park which had a pirate ship and swings...unfortunately despite searching through the forum, couldn't locate the post again. Silly me had promised my toddler that we were going to a playground with a big ship but despite hunting around over the weekend at Kent Ridge park, couldn't find it....

Could anyone help please? Thanks very much in advance!

Playparks

Do you mean Westcoast Park? This is a few minutes taxi ride from the Buona Vista area and has wonderful playareas including a big ship for the kids to climb on, climbing nets, flying fox rides suitable for younger children, and lots of space to run around in. I would not go there when it is too sunny though as there is not much shade by the play areas. But you could go to Macdonalds at the park entrance to escape the heat. There was a kite flying festival here a few months ago organised by Act3 Drama group. It was excellent.

Hi maria

many thanks for your help...I've actually been to West Coast park but didn't see the boat....is it in the main playground area near the Macs?

Anyone else know if there is a playground at the Kent ridge park? the post on the forum specifically said it was at kent ridge park, down the lane from the tank...and apparently it was surrounded by trees....

I don't recall a playpark in Kent Ridge but the nearest, big play park eastwards I could think of is Tiong Bahru park: http://maps.singaporeexpats.com/showmap ... CTRANSPORT

There are really small play spaces as well on the way there along the Alexandra Park Connector.

Hello again
I double checked with my husband and yes, it was a mock boat that our children were playing in. It is set in a big sandpit and actually quite near the entrance after you go through MacDonalds.
But may be there is another boat somewhere out there in another park..Good luck with your hunt.

We always used the Zoo as our primary playground. It had the best facilities, parking was free with a family membership, for years they had the only swings in Singapore.
