Question on apartments-Cuscaden Residence+Res@ Evelyn

Post by Shez » Sun, 08 Nov 2009 1:47 pm

Hi All,

My husband and I are looking for apts and have recently seen The Cuscaden on orchard/Tanglin and Residence @Evelyn in Newton

Has anyone lived in there before or known anyone there? Can you share pro's and con's? Cuscaden unit is at 6th floor, Evelyn is at 20th floor.
Thanks everyone!

Shez.

Hello Shez. . .

My wife, daughter and I live at Residences @ Evelyn. Our 2-year lease is up this coming February and we're looking to extend.

No complaints whatsoever. Easy walk to the Newton or Novena MRT. . .United Square and Velocity are nearby.

Great mix of people, expats and locals.

Lots of kids from age 0 to teens (I guess that could be a problem if you don't like kids).

I can't speak for the other condo you mentioned, but ours has been great for us.

There are very few young kids in Cuscaden which might be good or bad for you, but the location is amazing!

Hi Hbw65,

Would exactly do you mean? As in children or young singles of the rowdy kind?
Yes we do love the location, but the angled rooms etc seem a bit challenging...do you know of anyone living there?? Can you share that experience?
Thanks for all your help.

i meant that if you have young kids yourslf then it might not be a good fit in terms of meeting other children etc..they don't have a playground either.

the pool is kind of old too. we have friends who live there and the rooms seem fine - not a problem - actually they are very good sizes. it's nice b/c most flats there have two bathrooms that have a tub. maids rooms are on the smaller/dingier side, but not sure if that is a priority of you.

Oh okay, thanks for clarifying. No we dont have kids yet, so that's not a problem and yes, the rooms while angled are okay space wise..the windows and light for the unit we saw, wasnt all that great and the kitchen felt a little closed (no good ventilation) but the area is ab fab and hence we were so conflicted...
Anyway, it so happens the unit we saw is now off the market!! That's what happens when you take this long :D..

So off we go again with our search!!
Thanks for your feedback ..
