you can go down to far east plaza. there is a 'old' shop call johnny 2 thumb. suppose to be super good! been there for years! there are many tattoo shops there which you can browse about... most shops are using fairly new equips.

yes, far east plaza definitely. everyone talks about johhny two thumbs on 4th floor, but my fren did an amazing one at a small shop on the 1st floor. basically a small shop run by one man, so the shop's often not open since he;s busy attending tattoo conventions, but he advises and personalizes ur tattoo, high recommendation!

i would ahve to say tt tattooing in spore is not cheap though

TATTOO shop recommendations

Post by robatti » Sun, 10 Mar 2013 1:47 pm

Hi! Tattoo lover here.

Talking about my experience I WOULDNT GO TO these tattoo studios (loussy and not good srvice, specially BAD customer service. They just look for money and dont care about quality or keeping a satisfied customer).

-GALAXY 2, in Chinatown. (Just a name).
-Rise&above tattoo, in Far East Plaza.
-Lovesick tattoo, in Parklane. Too young tattoist looking for fast money and fast jobs.

Go for experienced artists, not for the 20year old kids looking for easy money and fast works.

Talented and good ones, in my opinion:

-Elson Yeo, at Think Tattoo, Far East Plaza.
-Elvin tattoo, he has his own studio near Paya Lebar.
-Clover Ink tattoo, in Little India. Cheapest by far. They do decent jobs, and they are kind and listen to your requirements (not like in Galaxy)

I've not been tattooed in singapore yet, but recently came across a shop in the basement of PoMo Mall on Selegie. Looks really clean, and appeared to be quite busy. May be worth checking out. Think it was called Good Charlotte.

If any of you get a tattoo, please share your experience. I'd like to get one here, but I've had mixed feedback as to the regulation standards (hygienic) in SG. Also, I'm looking for a great artist. I actually waited a year and a half to go back to Canada to get my last one, but I'd like to get another (my 4th) and I'd rather not wait until I go home again.

Would definitely recommend looking around Far East Plaza. I went to Primitive Tattoo Studio which was great. Nearly 12 months on and it looks brand new, no problems with infections and the tattoo was designed from scratch with the help of the artist - who listened to and designed what I wanted.

It also depends on the style of tat you want. Some are better at old school tats and other are more into Japanese style murals. Others somewhere between.
