Hi All
I am here for a week with my partner to get a feel for some areas, as we are relocating here in Feb from UK. He will be working for a Sing company and I will be still running my firm from emails abroad.
We have had an agent show us around with our budget of up to 10k sing a month and I have decided I don't want to be on top of the city nor Orchard road.
We did see a very stylish shophouse on day one that we fell in love with on Blair Road, but I wonder if once the trendiness has worn off, the fact that there is no outdoor space, nor parking would drive us mad?
I have seen some interesting properties, what I would call real houses, in the Namly Garden/Sixth Avenue area - are these good places to live or are we cut off from public transport? Also there was no pool and it is boiling here!!
I am having 1st baby in April, so need to pop to places, but don't mind walking as long as there are pavements etc.. and would like yoga??
I will go stir crazy if there are no neighbours to talk to you, similarly laid back as us, and we did see a cluster house we liked off Braddell Road, One Lynwood, which was great with the connecting popl - but where is Braddell Road and what can we do there etc...?
I have to say that I didn't really like Holland Village as it felt a bit like an Asian Magaluf, as most agents say that is the place for ex pats.
We visited East Coast yesterday, had a great dinner and walk along beach but the 3 x semi detached properties we saw were a bit like something from Dynasty!
Any help would be appreciated - also have the weekend free, before I go back to the rat race so should we pop over to Bintan to see beaches?
Thanks
Mel
