sense of smell reduced

Post by Swiss Wife » Wed, 21 Oct 2009 10:37 pm

After years of allergic rhinitus and sinus problems increased by lots of flying leaving me with almost no sense of smell I finally had a nose op that removed bits of bone to wide the nasal passage, drain sinuses and remove polyps. This gave me back about 80% of my sense of smell and taste also.
This was 3 years ago and now my sense of smell is almost non-existant again. Whilst there are some times when travelling I am secretly glad I can't smell anything - I am wondering if anyone has had similar experience and if it is worth trying the op again. It was very painful at the time but the results were worth it. Any one any advice ??

why don't you try homeopathic medicine or any other alternative medicine first ?
It's cheaper and less invasive.

I also suffer from sinus since 10yrs old and the condition just got worst and worst as I aged.

Then one of my best buds introduced to me Teviron negative ion clothing. My condition improved just after 2 weeks of using the clothing. Now 7mths on, the situation just got better and better :D

I am also in the Wed Morning coffee in Facebook, I am Lisa and I am the one who is maybe attending. I would love to tell u more about it. It changed my life completely..haha

U can give me a message here or on facebook and we can meet up?

Me too actually, I have been using steroid sprays since like 15? Been thru it all, Rhinocort, Flaxonase, Nasonex... Then the antihistamines clarityn, zyrtec, xyzal

I find that dust is the biggest culprit other than that is the change of weather.

It also doesn't work

Or to be more precise, homeopathy is well known not to work, whereas the clinical benefits of snorting the lizard tail cocktails handed out by the neighborhood sinseh have not been clinically demonstrated.

Anyway, one of the downsides of Singapore is that, for some plants, it's spring all year long and there's always pollen in the air. It's worth popping into a local hospital and getting a prick test done, since they'll check for local allergens they've never heard of back in Angmohland.

Little M, since you like Teviron so much, can you tell us exactly how much it costs and tell us a physical shop where it's available in Singapore? tick tock
