hello all, i have a full licence for motorcycles and have ridden large capacity bikes in uk..im considering a suzuki 400 dr ...now...will my licence cover me here, can i import a bike from UK or elswhere, if so what are taxes, or would it be a better financial move to buy locally..any relable suzi dealers out there.....i know its expensive to buy motor vehicles here so i assume its same for bikes...

any info gratefully received....

Technically, you can only convert your unlimited license to a 2b (200 cc or less). Quite a few (me included) have gotten an unlimited conversion. Do a search on 'motorcycle' and you will find lots of relevant threads.

Generally, if you are older and have many years of experience you will get an unlimited. Some people buy a large bike, ride it for 10 months (all legal on your foreign license), then convert with the note that they have already been riding unlimited bikes for 10 months. I've seen this work, too.

Not much in the way of Suzuki's here... except small displacement bikes.
