Does anyone know where to go to hire a full formal kilt and jacket in Singapore? There are lots of formal hire places but none mention kilts.

No, I never found anywhere to hire one. I ended up borrowing of a friend of a friend and then bought one online.

I got the kilt, jacket, waistcoat and socks from sportkilt.com (US based). It's reasonably priced and definitely good enough for my needs. They have a lot of the major tartans but probably can't do specific less well known ones. They were very accommodating when I had to return the kilt to have the size changed. They have two different lengths for medium so be careful when choosing. They also have all the accessories but I got mine from scotclans.com (Scotland). Delivery takes a couple of weeks.

Great! Thanks for the response. I'll take a look. Did you get taxed for importing it?

I think my total was below the taxable amount so I didn't have to pay tax. If you do have to pay tax then you will have to go to the post office to pick it up and pay the amount there.
Check out

If your total value is less than SGD$400 make sure that you get the supplier to attach a copy of the invoice to the outside of the parcel so it can be cleared immediately and delivered to your house.

SQ to hire 2000 more cabin crew
I’m taking this as a positive sign that the flight industry is coming back, perhaps now it is finally safe to say that SG is reopened for good.
