Hi there,
Been reading the threads - very informative. However, I couldn't find any that discussed about recent Change of Employer cases.
I have recently accepted a new job with better offer after working for a year with my current company. Now, I'm worried about the result from MOM (subject to approval). What are my chances? Has anybody gone through this recently? Since the tightening of the rule and so on.
I'm an S-Pass holder and was earning $2k. The new job has offered $2.5k and it's a bigger organization.
Hope to see some answers/suggestions. Thanks.
PS: I've had a change of employer previously and it took two days to get approved. This is the second time.

As the tightening up is only around 6 weeks old, you will be our test case. Let us know how you go.

Oh well, good luck to me... I guess. Besides, news does say the economy is rebounding. I'm hoping for the best.

Hi Carrie,
Thank you for the encouragement. The new company has already applied for the pass. Guess, will come to know the result by Tuesday.
I don't like this feeling of dependence / constriction. Guess, it's better to be self-employed and start your own business.
Cheers,

Hi Robie,
good luck with this one. You will indeed be the first to test this out now with the new regulations. The fact that the economy is picking up now is not that important in this case as this only means it is more likely to get a job offer, however it says nothing about MoM's willingness to transfer your EP as the issue of new EPs was tightened based on other factors as well such as unhappy citizens fed up of competing with foreigners and foreigners pushing wages down to much.

Just to update you guys - the company used one of the agency's service and this agent screwed all my information. From my academic info to working experiences.
I visited the officer at MOM today and the officer asked me to reapply with correct information. I was shell shocked when I looked at my rejected application. Frankly speaking, if I were an MOM officer I would have rejected my own application. I wonder who hires these people as agents.
I have gulped my burning anger for the time being. S**T happens and this time it was because of some S**T kind of a person.
PS: Application rejected twice. Have applied for the third time with all the correct information. (Keeping my fingers crossed) - chin up and smiling...

sadly i know alot of people getting rejections, from PR to Pass...even renewals of Entrepreneur Pass. So keep your fingers crossed.
Also when you transfer..dont terminate your current pass until you get your in principle approval for your new pass. so you wont be worrying about rejections.
