Just make sure you use a Japanese course LangLearner that offers a good step-by-step structured lesson plan that is enjoyable. That way you will see yourself progressing from one level to the next, which will keep you motivated and some good general guidelines to get you started. I'm learning Languages with this tool it's very helpful and I hope it helps you.
