Hi
You're not sad an old ...well not any more so than I :D

I've been plying sudden attack. Free download and works just fine. it takes a while to build up points to buy better guns but is still good fun from the get go. Interesting version of capture the flag called property defence.
Big asian online community so plenty of players all the time.

Dont worry about building your own rig . You can go to a shop like cybermind or fuwell and spec it and they'll build for you providing you buy the stuff from them.

You can get all the prices online at Hardware zone
http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/priceguide/

the foums over there are pretty good on the PC tech stuff too.

Good luck

I've always had good experiences with Cybermind but i'm sure there are others too ( fuwell, video pro etc) Most of there stuff is at least 1 year warranty. They can supply OEM XP pro too.

I wouldn;t go to their FUnan outlet as they just supply what they have in stock. The Sim lim tower place has stock of pretty much anything you might want.
I prefer a good casing and power supply as this usually see me through 3 to 4 years . Currently using lanbox light and very pleased.
Stick with brand names if you can, as they will have local warranty and support. Asus is the only mother board i'll use. very reliable. Kingston memory ( 2 gig as xp cant properely use 4 gig anyway) Seagate hard disk and then rest of the budget to get the fastest processor you can. I find higher spoeed processors to be overrated. Your money is much better spent on a reasonable video card. You might struggle with 1500 bucks but it shouldn't be too far above for a decent rig.

There's a lot of fancy stuff out there to temp those last dollars out of your wallet

Cheers

agree with Bigfilsing on Sin Lim. Despite the bad reputation given by some unscrupulous vendors, there are some good shops there. If you use his links to spec out the machine you are thinking about and post the specs here, I'm sure a number of members will help you refine it. I have now built four machines and am embarking on my next one when Windows7 launches after Oct22. The good shops in Sin Lim will put the machine together for you (free of charge) if you buy the components from them and the warranty will be honoured. I'm not really an on-line gamer mysef although I do have a PS3 and like some of the games that are offered on that platform.

Over the years the shops are pretty fairly priced. You can get the occaisional deal on 1 or 2 parts but nothing major.
Your specs look fine. Not sure whether you'll get the benifit from the 4 gig ( as apposed to 2) I've had some trouble of late with certain graphics intensive programs. 32 bit XP doesn't like it. SOme games dont like 64 bit XP so you're a bit stuck. The compromise, providing your mother board has 4 slots ( most do ) would be to get 4 1 gig dims so you could always pull 2 if they give trouble.
Other than that go for it

Good luck

Post by ehartanto » Wed, 04 Nov 2009 12:20 pm

Hi John,

try this game www.navyfield.com.

most of the player that I know over 30 and over 40 years old.
it is a battle between the warship during the world war II.
Since you are from UK, you can try the UK battleship. They are the strongest battleship.
For more detail, go to this website at www.trainworld.us
