Youth Baseball in Singapore?

Post by Bryan9238 » Wed, 07 Oct 2009 12:46 am

Hello! Our family is considering a move to Singapore next summer and while we have a million questions, the one I haven't been able to find an answer to yet is about youth baseball.

We have three boys 7, 12, and 14. I gather there is a recreation baseball league available for all ages through the American School but I am wondering if there are any more competitive teams or leagues out there.

Our 14 year old son loves the game and plays for a very competitive AAU travel program which draws its players from across our state here. He'd like to continue that advanced level of play if we move, anyone know if there is a program there?

Thanks for the help!

There is competitive baseball through the Singapore American School as well, or through SACAC. It won't be like 'at home' but they do travel (Manila, Jakarta, Perth). If your kids attend SAS he can play varsity high school baseball, although I don't believe baseball is an IASAS sport. Hope this helps ...and that you're not yankee fans :)

Thanks for the help, I will get in touch with SACAC.

Anybody know if there are any training facilities in Singapore outside of the American School facilities? You know like batting cages?

Oh and sorry but GO YANKEES! :D

They have cages and pitches over at Kallang Leisure park (right by the Kallang Indoor Stadium).
