Try the expat auction, held every two weeks. Bidding is part of the fun! Their warehouse is near Pasir Panjang.

theres a new shop at the junction of river valley rd and hoot kiam rd that sells home deco stuff. Went there recently and saw some paintings from the low profile art collective KNTJ. Not bad at all, didnt ask bout the price though..

Why don't you try The Arts House? They're an arts collective at the old parliament house building. If I'm not mistaken, they have a shop there that sells stuff by local artists (paintings, books, CDs, etc.).

i was there 2 weeks ago. really good pieces there. I can't really tell the difference between the tourist stuff and the 'real' artsy stuff. but something nice to hang on the wall is all that matters
