Secondary School Transfer

Post by midnitesun » Sat, 03 Oct 2009 3:09 pm

We are from Malaysia and my son is currently studying in Secondary 1 - in a neighbourhood school. We wish to seek to transfer him to a better school as we find that the current school is not challenging enough for him. We have written to MOE but they say they could not help us but requested us to go check around the school we are interested and see if there are vacancies available?
I have check about 5-6 school around North-East but most of them could not confirm any accepted, just requesting us to submit the application and they will check if there is a vacancy, they will call us back.
Just wish to check if anyone have the similar experience, please care to share and advice.
Tks
when things look down, try looking UP !!

that sounds normal to me.

you will have better luck if you approached singapore (not international) school with boarding facilities... OR church-operated schools.

determined parents can usually find a way to enroll their child in those schools.

I checked ACS Independent website few months ago. They still admit kids trasfering from other schools. There are some conditions like.. good school records, letter from principal, and exam result.. not sure what kind of exam. Check their website.

Hope this helps.
