log on broken
Hi all,
I have been discussing this with Plavt since last week already. I am littlegreenman but under this account I can not post anything and just keep receiving 404s and different errors. I couldn't post for over a week. Thus I had the choice to either walk away from the forum or create a new nick (so pls don't kill either log in because of dupe). It seems to be working now, however I would still like to use my old nick instead with my posts linked to it. If this is not possible, could you pls link my old posts to this account? Thanks.

Cheers SE. It was the logon. Ever since I used the new one it works well. I tried changing back to the old one a few times and it isn't working. Certainly not a browser, cookie, routing, malware system as:Strong Eagle wrote:Have you tried setting up another browser fresh (like Safari) and see what happens? If you are getting 404's and such, it occurs to me that you might have a deeply embedded malware problem... lhhosts table or something like that if I remember.
a. I tried Safari and Firefox at home as well as IE (vomit) in uni.
b. cleared cookies and cache several times. Also using a different computer at any should alleviate this problem.
c. I used my home connection, VPN connection, connection at uni and all kept producing the same errors.
d. I am using a mac, not much malware around for the mac. Using different computers (also different ones in uni), all kept having the same problems.
Last but not least, I got a lot of error messages from the forum engine actually, clearly indicating mistakes in the forum system using my login which doesn't have to do with my system at all. It all was php errors and I gave copies of the exact errors to JP and Plavt.
So well, econoMIC I am now.

Good possibility. I've had it happen occasionally, but usually just try again in a minute or two and in I go. Normally, I'm logged in once I've loaded my browser the first time (tabs) and it stays there until I shut down.

Yes, the connection to the database will be alive until the user logs off. Site admin can probably set a timeout for each session to have the idle connection cleared .sundaymorningstaple wrote:Good possibility.
