Not sure if this is available elsewhere on the forum, but a quick question really please everyone. What's the standard fee for estate agents in Singapore on a 1 year lease? We've been told 0.5 months payable by the tenant if the rental is below 3k/month and nothing to pay if it's over that threshold - any ideas on standard practise? Appreciated

Yes thats correct. We just recently moved and check all this. Although some agents will try for double dip (Agent told us himself, if new to Singapore they will try and get fee from both parties) but lucky for us we been here for some time and are aware.

Thanks Rails, we got stung unfortunately last year...our rent is over 3k and though initially we asked for a 2 year lease which was later randomly converted to only a one year when we had barely any time left to find a place to live, they made us pay 0.5 months of the rental as fees to the estate agent - quite upsetting.

So we're onto to them this year!

I learnt as a foreigner to be an property agent will require a company supporting EP. Anyone know how to get it? Thanks in advance

There are a lot of Chinese Canadians, especially of Hong Kong origin, working here in Singapore. I know at least a few in my office.
