Curious to know what people think of The Sail in Marina Bay? good to stay or better to keep away?

Thanks Durain.

Found the thread.

Sounds like the Sail is suffering from noise pollution at the moment....

I was at one raffles quay yesterday looking out at the sail marina. Wouldnt want to live there so much construction. Mind you its getting towards completion probably finished in next 6-8 months. Also most rooms seem to get the full sun and for such a central location its a little bit annoying with regards to be close to the action if that makes sense.

When I first started looking on this site I had a really good opinion of it and thought it would suit. Having lived here now for 6 months its more like fools gold. Its still good quality build but many more places are better than it. Would suit singles more than family's too.

The Sail is right in the CBD and that can be a bit dead at night.

One of the best ways to determine what are the best condos is to go to the URA website. Look for property Rental market

http://www.ura.gov.sg/realEstateWeb/rea ... roller.jpf

Sieve out those that command the highest rents per square feet. The rationale is that the projects with the highest rents per square feet are usually the most sought after projects. This is the theory of Adam Smith's The Invisible Hand. i.e. the market has done the work for you already, identifying what are "good" projects

Next, when you are ready to rent, take a look at some of these projects and determine which development suits you. THEN try to achieve rents equivalent to the bottom 25th percentile for the project - this way it'll ensure that you'll get a good project at a good price!!!
