Is there a good library system in Singapore?

Post by tanusa » Sun, 20 Sep 2009 7:35 am

We use the local library in our area quite a bit. My kids like to go to story time and check out books. Is there a good library system in Singapore? Funny the things you start wondering about while you're getting ready to move... :)

Thanks!

Excellent!

Very good system for delivering any book you need from any other library branch in Singapore. The population density makes this possible. (Singapore is the second most densely populated country in the world after Monaco, the country that's not a country)
The nature of Monkey was ... irrepressible!

Tanusa - We, too, use the local library when we are home - there are lots of activities for the kids. I used the library when we first got here - but depending on where you live it's a little less convenient then at home b/c only certain branches offer children's activities.
There is a great selection of books for adults - and you can search online to see which branch they are available at - or reserve and send to your branch.
If you do decide to join the American Club - they have a small library with a reading room for the little ones as well as story time and activities.

thank you both for your replies. I'll check out the link. Also, good to know about the American Club reading room. I'm sure that's nice for members, since you'd be there all the time anyway.
