Why is that predictable? I don't work in Raffles area in finance and I daresay probably most here don't. :-|

Ah, I should have mentioned the industry of work I'd be in. Apologies. I told someone here in Hong Kong of my foray into Singapore, when asked what area I'd be working out of, they gave me the impression that most, if not all banks and financial institutions were based within the Raffles area. The Singaporean counterpart to Hong Kong's "Central" if you will... In Hong Kong, an expat finance professional can expect to find himself working, eating, if not living in and around the central district 9 out of 10 times. Hence the predictability factor. :) Having said that, it's been 8 years since I was last in Singapore and surely things have changed? Cant wait to hit the ground running soon!

Optus. I'll be in Singapore mid October provided my employment papers arrive on time. My firm says 4-6 weeks so we shall see. Happy to hook up then and loop you in on Hong Kong.
