How are you employing her? Personal written contract, through some agency or what?

the sg employment act shall not apply to domestic helpers, i.e. it only protects local and foreign employees except managerial, executive and confidential employees, domestic workers, seamen and government employees

a quick reference to the mom's press publication 010109 will also indicate to u that this exclusion still stands :
http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/etc/media ... e%20EA.pdf

however i have to say that employment law is not really my area, and i'm not sure whether the Employment (Part-Time Employees) Regulations 1996 applies. i can't find an online copy of it for reference n it is only available for purchase
my gut feel says that it does not

take a look at your contract with the agency again. there should b a termination clause provision

Well, I heard that some maids are sent out to do cleaning work but they have no papers with the agency (are looking to be placed live-in with a family) and they often don't see any of the money either.
