Where do dance to rock music ??

Post by chrissi3 » Fri, 11 Sep 2009 10:56 am

Hi,

I am in my mid 30s and I used to go out for dancing. But here in Singapore I havn't found anything that attracts me.

The thing is I like rock/hard rock music, but not only listening to.

So when the music starts I have to move :D

Can anybody recommend a place?

xx

Maybe Singaporeans and Rock music doesn't match.

Always dressed trendy and posh, can't really imagine them dancing to rock/hard rock music.

So, I assume we have to keep on searching....

Howl at the Moon (Emerald Hill, off Orchard) is quite good, they have dueling pianos for the most part with the songs mainly being requested but the band start playing rock music a bit later and everyone sings along and dances. It can get a bit repetative if you go too often but it's a good laugh especially with a bit of a crowd......

HomeClub. Go there on a Friday night, they host live rock bands and rock music all night. Its very laid back and a pretty neat place to hang with other fellow rock music enthusiasts.

Last week they had full on metal bands, that was pretty awesome! In between sets, they had the hardest hitting songs.

Go and check it out for yourselves.

Jive talking play mainstream pop rock, stuff you hear on the radio. The queue to get in is another thing.

HomeClub is laid back. Led Zep, Alice in Chains, Silverchair, Slayer, AC/DC, Deftones, HIM, the Kings of Leon, Nine Inch Nails. Just to name a few, apart from the live bands.

so, you go there regularly? I am 35+ and don't wanna hang around with 20+something people.

Would feel better if there were be some "aged" (haha) people.

Thanks!

ps slayer.. can't imagine this kind of music in SG, but I will try next friday

Yes I do. In my thirties too, but I don't surround myself with people just my age. I have mates who are teens well as well as those in the late 50's. Doesn't bother me.

Last weekend, the lads put on a good show. Here's to this week then. Hope to see you there chrissi3.
