I'm new in town and looking for the best tea shop - preferably in Chinatown-esque where the locals go. Any ideas?
I already have some excellent oolong from Taiwan but am looking for a nice herbal or ginger tea.
Thanks

Tons in Chinatown...
* Tea Chapter (
http://www.tea-chapter.com.sg/) is where the tourists go. Good place to drink tea, pretty expensive if you want to buy any though.
* Yixing Xuan (
http://www.yixingxuan-teahouse.com/), similar but less touristy
* Yue Hwa (
http://www.yuehwa.com.sg) has a vast tea selection on their 4th floor ($20,000 for a pu erh cake, anyone?)
* Several very local tea shops in the HDB arcade between Chinatown Point and South Bridge Rd.
