Hi there,
Does anyone know where in Singapore I can purchase an electric baby food maker / processor? Or any food processor that can be used at home to make fine purees for baby's first foods?
Please do share your experiences on how you made baby food at home...
Thanks a lot in advance!

We use a normal food processer we bought at an electrical goods store at Vivo city. Then I pour into the ice container molds and freeze. Once they are solid I put them into different containers in the freezer which have labels and I have different veggies. Then I just mix and match a few cubes and heat in the microwave, add a bit of boiling water with rice grain to thicken to a suitable paste as if its too thin and its too hard to feed. Ive noticed she likes to have this with a bit of toast and this teaches them to feed themselves and hand coordination as well. Just dip it in the food to make it a bit less dry.
I do carrot, broccali, sweet potato / pumpkin, and a few others. My baby also loves fruit espcailly mango which you could process down but she eats it fine in small pieces.

I tried a few different gadgets over the years and by far the most useful was a braun stick blender, available in any electrical shop. Easy to take a small amount of what we were having before any salt was added and blend it. Lets you vary how much you mush the food up as well so you can start making the texture more lumpy as your baby gets bigger. We also had a baby mouli food mill, think I got it in Mothercare, which was quite useful but more of a faff to clean. A full size electric blender is fine for making big batches of food to freeze but we didn't have room to keep it out on the worktop and I find if it's not readily accessible there I don't use it as much.

I have just started making baby purees and have been using the Braun hand held blender in the tall jug that comes with it as it makes the food completely mushed/pureed (great for making soups too). The blender also came with a shorter/wider tub with a chopping blade in the bottom which will be useful when we make the purees more lumpy.
I'm still on the search for a moule though. I haven't seen one in Mothercare or Carrefour so was going to try Tangs on Orchard next. Has anyone managed to get one here?

We used the Kenwood Mini Chopper Food Processor CH180 very compact, can travel with it, easy to clean, and powerful enough for almost anything you can chuck at it.
Handy for home made pesto etc.

Agree with many - no need to invest in a baby processor. Just use a normal one or a blender. I also found the handheld one to be quite useful when weaning.

Fish is super expensive. Otherwise from my neighbourhood coffeeshop can still get economy rice for 2 people (1 meat 2 veg) for about $7.
