Advise needed for relocation

Post by ey » Sat, 05 Sep 2009 2:13 am

Hi all,

I am in desperate need for advice on the room rental in singapore.
I am a fresh graduate and this is my 1st time being in singapore.

I have a job offer at Technopark@chai chee and is confused and basically completely lost on what should i do about my accommodation! :???:

Since my starting pay is not high, I could only afford to rent a room which I have trouble searching since I am unfamiliar with the place.

Questions that I have in mind right now is that is there any HDB flats that are within walking distance to the Technopark? or is it better for me to rent a room somewhere near to the MRT line? it seems to me from the map that even the Bedok MRT is NOT within walking distance to my workplace! i wonder about the security around the area too and if it's safe to walk?!

I have seen quite a number of room rental advertisement at Bedok Reservoir. it seems like a pretty good area to stay in but I can see that it is far from my workplace.

People out there, please do give me some advice so that I could at least have some rough picture and planning on what i should do when i move there next week.

THANKS A BUNCH!! [-o<

hi ey

yes there are alot of HDB flats around yr work place. However, if you were to find a room to share, it will be faster to get a agent to help you with that.

You can also consider Kembangan area, where there are alot of condos/private houses that is renting cheap........4 to a room. It's only 3 bus-stop to technopark@bedok.

I think you can look to rent a house in the chai chee area as it will be within walking distance. Singapore is a safe place to walk, even late at night so no worries. Living in HDB can also reduce your rental and transport expenses and you can save the rest till you move up the ranks!
