will a U.S. king-sized bed fit in most master bedrooms?

Post by tanusa » Tue, 01 Sep 2009 2:05 am

Hello. My husband and I just bought a new king-sized bed here in the U.S. I think king-sized beds here are a little larger than those sold in Singapore. We are relocating the end of the year to Singapore, and I'm wondering if the bed will comfortably fit in most master bedrooms there. I've looked online at housing, but it's difficult to tell the size of the rooms. We just ordered the bed, so I have time to cancel the order if this was a mistake to purchase it. Any feedback would be really appreciated!

It depends on the condo. HDB housing, not really unless you like to walk sideways around the bed. Actually, from what I've been told, it even worse in lots of the newer condos as well as the bedrooms are small (to say the least).

As SMS has said, the newer condos, maybe less than 5 years old, the master bedrooms only just take a queens size bed. The older condo, a lot will.

To be honest, if you're going to be here for a few years, cancel the order, come to Singapore, find the condo you like and buy a bed here. At least you aren't going to be restricted by the bed as to where you can live.
