Best health insurance especially for pregnancy cover

Post by Carla London » Mon, 31 Aug 2009 4:47 am

Hello all,

First of all this is a great site and it has given us lots of information, thank you. My husband and I will be moving to Singapore in October, we are so excited! We are going to try for a baby in Singapore.

It's very tricky to find a good insurance as sometimes their terms and conditions aren't clear. We have been looking around some insurance providers : Bupa, Axa and Aviva. From all of these we feel that Bupa is the most transparent and more realiable. We use Bupa health insurance in the UK but would like to know if Aviva or Axa is as good as them for international in Singapore. The slight concern is Bupa more expensive than the others.

Could you please share your experience if you had your baby in Singapore using any of these. Which one do you think the best?

Thank you,
Carla

Most insurance providers have a stipulation that you must have coverage a certain amount of time prior to conception to receive maternity coverage. Check with the companies directly to see what their policy is.

Hi Carla, most insurers here have coverage for pregnancy complications.
But normally will have a waiting period. so its best to get it first before trying! hope it helps.
Cheers,
Simon
