How many people do you know? I've been the HR manager for a 200+ man company for the past 5 years and a HR/Recruitment manager for 12 years here before that. Wanna compare notes?

Yes they have to wait till the card is issued. The AIP letter does not always allow a person to start work before issuance. That is why it's called an AIP. You do know what AIP stands for don't you?

It stands for "Approval in Principle" which means that the approval is not yet 100% guaranteed but is an approval "in principle" which means some things are still pending which could conceivably result in the pass not being given (I've had it happen several times with Malaysians).
