Post by siska299 » Thu, 20 Aug 2009 1:42 am

i am currently holding student pass in a private school.
i want to apply for pr, but i dont have any family in sinagpore.
because for student pass, the student cant work part time. i want to work to help my parent.
can i apply it?
any requirement?
is that possible to ask someone that holding pr or citizen to adopt me?

thx so much..

can i apply it? Unfortunately you can, but it won't be approved as you don't have the relevant skills or employment.
any requirement? Yes, a relevant degree, relevant working experience or family ties which you have already told us you don't have.
is that possible to ask someone that holding pr or citizen to adopt me? Doubtful

thx so much..
As as student in a private school not approved by the MOM, it's even doubtful that you would be allowed to work part time (up to 20 hours a week) but only if you attend one of the approved schools..

No way, forget about it until you graduate, then things might be different. The only way to do this would be if you parents apply for PR, then they can include you in it and then you can legally work.

@SMS: how could she apply for PR on a student pass in a private school before graduation? On what grounds? Certainly not Technical/Skilled worker category and certainly not family ties. And if you graduate at a private school then you don't get an invitation to take up PR (at least I didn't).

siska299,

Start with the above link. This will tell you all you need to know about applying for PR.

LGM, I wasn't referring so much to PR as I was to her trying to work here while on a students pass. I think her problem is more an income thing than a PR thing.
because for student pass, the student cant work part time. i want to work to help my parent.

Or that's the way I'm reading it anyway..... :?
