maxillofacial surgery korea/taiwan

Post by andii » Wed, 19 Aug 2009 1:11 am

I am looking at having maxillofacial surgery, and I am thinking about having it done in Korea (although i may even lcheck out Taiwan at Chang Gung). I had a recomendation some time ago from a surgeon outside Asia for anterior osteotomies of both jaws. I decided not to move ahead with that surgeon but am now considering Dr Sanghoon Park at the ID Hospital/Clinic. Has anyone had any experiences with this doctor, hospital or procedure. I got the impression that quite a lot of this type of surgery is done in Korea.

maxillofacial surgery:
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is surgery to correct a wide spectrum of diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region. It is a recognized international surgical specialty.

This kind of surgery should be very rare. As in not many people need it. So your chance of getting a recommendation is low low low..

Wikipedia did mention these few countries.. U.S.A., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. And not Korea and Taiwan. You can give a shot there?

Try this link. it contains links to certain Korea Hospitals.. http://eng.kaomfr.org/m5/m5_1.htm

Care to explain what Maxillofacial Surgery is?
