L Shaped apartments in Singapore

Hi Guys,

I saw a couple of Ads for L shaped apartments for rent which were for 600 to 700$ in Bedok area. I wanted to know what an L shaped apartment means, is it same as studio or is there any difference and is it an HDB or a condo.Is it a 1+1?

I believe that it would be small in area and I believe there is no seperate living room and bedroom and kitchen and everything is in the same area, but what other problems am I likely to face in an L shaped apartment?

We are a couple and planning to rent an apartment in a month or so and were looking for a low price point rental ideally 1.2K PM in Bedok/ Tampines/ Simei area and the rent of L shaped is half that! That sounds brilliant, but just want to be sure that we dont get into any kind of inconvinience or trouble.

There is a somewhat infamous building where the chopped up all of the large condos into 4 smaller ones. They are all -very- strange floorplans.

Interestingly, the building was deemed to have done this illegally. But, they already did it.

If this is what it is referring to... be very suspicious.

I searched a lot on the intranet for the definition of L shaped apartment but couldnt find it anywhere, although I have seen several ads about L shaped. There are tons of such ads and all are very cheap like 600-700 $. Does anyone know what L shaped is? Please help!!!
