Weekend getaways - near Singapore
Still haven't made up my mind on whether or not to go to Desaru next weekend... but if the weather stays this monsoony, odds are "not".

Vaguely heretical thoughts on travel technology at Gyrovague
Going to Cherating and around this weekend (Nov7-11). We have 2 seats left in the car so if you're interested to join us (for the trip or just want to be dropped off there) please pm.
Tentative itinerary include waterfalls, beaches, local culture stuff, food. We're just two photography buffs so would like to go there for photo taking fun. If you're into photography and wanna join us, even better!

I have been going out of Singapore myself every once in a while with my girlfriend on a relatively modest budget... Somehow this adventure keeps us sane from the ever hectic life here in the island.
This weekend will be a trip to Langkawi via Tiger Airways at just 70 SGD each... I haven't really plan yet but then again, doing a trip with no fixed plan is also a joy.

This place in Ubud, Bali isn't budget by any stretch of the imagination, but it's probably the single most awesome hotel I've stayed in:

It's just barely doable as a two-nighter from Singapore, although you'll really want to take Fri off as well so you can get there early.
