Choosing A Business Name

Post by Pablito » Thu, 13 Aug 2009 9:45 pm

ACRA sais about choosing business name (http://www.acra.gov.sg/Services/Busines ... s_Name.htm)
You may not register or reserve a business name, or change your business name to one, that is:

> Undesirable
...

Is it possible to select business name having no sense or from some other language?
For example: "Dian Nao", "Privet", "Slava" "Aelita" etc?
Can it come into "undesirable" category?

Or should we choose some proper boring business name like "Advanced Solutions pte ltd" and then promote other brands?

"Undesirable" presumably means something like "Child Porn 'R' Us". Basically, you can name your company anything you'd like, unless it's a duplicate or contains restricted/naughty words.

I thought it similar way. But my "WEAPON" has come to undesirable category.
It is just reflection of contemporary fight against terrorists. Luckily I don't teach how to pilot airplanes, I even afraid to think about consequencies.
And my WEAPON means Word, Excel, Access, etc.
Now I afraid of the word "solutions", because solutions can be explosive too.

So maybe "Privet" will go - it means "Hello" in Russian. We have vodka brand "Privet"
