Hospitalization Leave - Based on Calendar day or Working day

Post by sugustong » Wed, 12 Aug 2009 3:18 pm

Hi all,

I would like to check whether in Singapore Hospitalization leave is based on calendar day (which include sat & sun) or working day (mon-fri only)?

What I read from employemenet act is only mention sick leave will exclude rest day, public holiday. So can I say that hospitalization leave also another kind of sick leave which mean it is base on working day?

Sorry, I got little confuse because the maternity leave and maternity flexi is base on calendar day.

Thank you. :D

Hospitalization Leave or Medical Leave (Sick Leave) can be deducted only for the working days. If the Hospitalization leave cross over off day, rest day or public holiday, the leave shall not be deducted.

You are allowed up to 60 days/year hospitalization leave or 46 days/year if all 14 days of Medical (Sick) Leave have been utilized. In no case will the aggregate of the two exceed 60 days.
