I found the retail price for diapers in Singapore is about 60% more expensive compared to the US, not to mention you can get great deals from Costco in the States which makes the price here looks insane! Where do people buy diapers from?

I buy Drypers here as I do not like the Pampers or Huggies (is it just me or do Pampers really smell once urine has come into contact with them??). Anyway Drypers work out to about 23cents per diaper whereas Huggies are around 45cents. I recently went to the UK and "nappies" are more expensive there and most supermarkets only carry Pampers or Huggies whereas here there is more variety.
That said, you can't beat cotton! Singapore is great for cotton nappies as the weather means you can dry them easily and most expats here have a helper which makes the whole washing thing much more manageable. Although I ended up buying my cottons online as there is not much of a range to be purchased here.

I never used cloth diaper before, disposable ones make life so much easier. I used to buy kirkland diapers from Costco, they come in 200+ pack. Good quality, great price. Too bad that there isn't a Costco in Singapore

We used cotton for both our kids except when we took them out as then it was much easier to just dispose of them but we found we had less problems using cotton nappies. And, no, we didn't have a maid. And yes, we both worked.

wow, 60% more expensive? I think I'll throw a few boxes of Kirkland's in our container! Btw, I totally love Costco's diapers. I bought them out of desperation one time and was totally surprised at how good they are. I love the gathered waistband in the back. My son is tall, but very thin. They're the only diaper that fits him well.
We are likely moving to Singapore this Fall. Although, I may stay behind with the kids until the end of the year.
How do you like living in Singapore? I'm excited about the move, but a little anxious about it to. Normal, I guess.

I'm not sure about that... I always used to think diapers were so much more expensive here - but after being home - it wasn't as huge a difference as I thought. But depends what brands you buy... if you buy Pampers at the supermarket in the US and it's $9.99 (plus tax) for 20 diapers - that is about $15 SGD. I buy 34 Mamipoko (my preferred brand) for $16.90 SGD so works out less expensive. You can also buy 80 Pampers here for $31 SGD - and a box of 70 in the US works out to be about $30 SGD (so it's still less expensive (but they are different texture than the US). A lot of people buy Drypers which are really inexpensive - but I find them kind of plastic-y - but that's just personal opinion.
I also used to bring back a load of disposable swim diapers - if you can buy them on sale for $7.99 in the US or so that's about $12 SGD and here they are about $15 - 17 per pack.
