Job in Singapore

Post by Prajosh » Sat, 01 Aug 2009 10:42 pm

Hello,

I am HR Professional with four years of experience in UK and One year in Dubai with a Masters from Middlesex University, London in HR and MKT.
I am not a British, I am holding an Indian Passport.

I am in Singapore for past 2 weeks and almost 500 emails have gone out from my inbox to different companies and agencies. I do try in sites like jobdb, jobcentral etc. I even paid a $ 50.00 to a consultancy to give a try.

Pls guys what are my chances in singapore now ?
What are your suggestions ?
Any recommanded agencies ?
all kinds of views are welcome ...

Thank you

What are your suggestions ? Probably the cheapest way would be to go back home and wait out the recession. I know that's not what you want to hear but it's the kindest advice I can give. There are hundreds of locals here with suitable qualification already looking for jobs and therefore, it would be hard to get MOM to give a company applying for a pass an approval.

It's rough here at the moment if you are not a Singaporean or a PR. If your qualification are good enough or you income was high enough (>7K/mo) there are options like the EPEC and/or PEP. This will buy you 6 or 12 months to find a job here, but you need the wherewithal to support yourself for that length of time.

Hi there,

SMS is right I am afraid. The job market at the moment is bad and they are not giving out EPs to everyone who has a pulse any more. Best is to wait it out elsewhere if you have a job somewhere else.

You better just stick with malaysian boards, because you level of English comprehension is sorely lacking. The poster told us that in the very first sentence.

Or are you here trying to solicit business for your recruitment company?
