Cars???

Although not new to Singapore, new to the site.
Always had company cars or "taxi'd it" around the island nation.
Started a new job recently and my employers have given me a $2k monthly budget to sort out my own vehicle.
My intention is to buy a used car (depreciation on vehicles in Sing is atrocious) on an interest free loan provided by the company after my probationary period of 6 months.
Until then I need to lease/rent a used Luxury Sedan(preferred) for six months.
Any good contacts or ideas?
Getting the usual run around from the 'Arfur Daley' types or being quoted ridiculous rates by the more established operators...Avis, Budget etc.

for 2k a month i got a brand new hyundai sante fe inc insurance, tax and petrol

Was never really impressed with Jap or Korean cars but the new price persuaded me and it hasn;t let me down ..at all.
Especially driving in singapore where you dont need speed or travle long distances.

Added to which when it;'s paid off i get a car to keep or scrap ...so spare change over from the 2 k a month from the boss.
