Car Insurance - Any recommendations

Postby Dave1w » Sun, 26 Jul 2009 5:57 pm

My insurance renewal has come through from NTUC and depite now getting a 10% no claims discount, it seems it has still gone up quite a bit.

In the past at home, premiums just didn't go up that quickly year on year. Should I just accpet that this is Singapore...

Or can anyone recommend a more competitive company?

So far, based on what I've researched, a lot of people prefer AIG. However, I would still recommend that you go through a thorough insurance comparison before you decide to buy. Of course, you don't want to make a mistake, plus you cannot fully enjoy some incentives (yes, there are). One of these is the no-claim bonus where you can get a discount as much as 50 percent off your usual insurance premium if there will be no claim against your insurance policy. You can read more about it in http://www.carinsurancesingapore.com/articles/factors-that-can-affect-your-car-insurance-singapore-policy/.

this is an old post, but what the heck...

shop around.

and, most "no claims discount" disappear the following year during renewal anyway.

so if you're coming from overseas, bring proof of your foreign NCD along. you might get lucky.
