Publishing Electronic Music - Where n How?

Post by MSMusic » Fri, 17 Jul 2009 7:29 pm

Hey everyone,

Does anyone of you know how to get started if you have got some electronic music that you would like to get published? European style club music

Record companies are soooo hard to reach :o :( :? I'm hopeful, though.

Thanks for any advices : )

What were you expecting? "Yeah bro, I've never heard your music and in fact I don't have the slightest clue what it sounds like but I'm sure it's dope shit, lemme introduce you to all my record publishing buddies"?

The old-fashioned way: Put together a demo and mail it off to record labels where you think it'd fit and you'd have a fighting chance.

The Internet version: Put your tracks up on MySpace (etc), try to build up a fan base, and contact labels.

hey yea, that;s what I did to, just sent it to people (a friedn of mine in the netherlands produced a cd p.e.). But as soon as I produced something really good I'll try to send it to Tiesto (because he has his Clublife Podcast and that's what hes looking for, publishing like none mainstream music) even though it might be slightly impossible, but I'll give it a try :D

So are you a producer?
What kind of "electronic music" do you make?

I have created an artist-account at www.mp3.com. So you can for example uplpoad samples of your music there and send the links to producers for convenience. I have no real experience about publishing professional. Just for fun and free. But could be worth a look for you.

Wish you good success
