Was my post deleted?

Post by yannee » Tue, 14 Jul 2009 12:42 pm

Greetings.

I posted on the Entertainment, Leisure, Sports forum earlier about a travel plan I had to Australia, but it appears to have been deleted.

However, I was not selling anything, just looking for someone to travel with, so I am kind of confused.

Could it be because I mentioned the tour I planned to join is being offered by some travel agents in Australia? How is that an advertisement? I didn't want anyone getting the wrong impression that I'm planning the trip on my own and I only gave the bare facts about what the tour comprises. Don't you guys think you are being too ... severe? Good grief.

Something like you have described would not normally be deleted. We are polling the moderators. We have had issues with the board occasionally losing posts, possibly this is one of them.

No trace of it found. Did you forget to hit Submit after Preview, perhaps? (I've done this a few times... )

But the simplest solution is just to go ahead and post again.

I never saw your post either yannee (and very rarely go into the section you mention), although sometimes when I have tried to post things I have sometimes lost them while trying to submit them, maybe for the same reason jpatokal mentions.

Think I may have deleted your post (not sure as there are many spammers around to clean up) because the post I can recall was organising a bus, hotels, etc and there was mention of a cost - In other words a paid tour. This is advertising and will always be deleted.

Was this your post. If so don't use the forum for advertising. If not then don't know what happened to your post. Sorry.

In the thread "The future of the Republican party in America", someone posted about how great Texas's economy was and how this vindicated conservative economics, and I responded that nationally there was little correlation between how well an economy was doing and it's politically philosophy. Later on I posted a chart that showed that there wasn't any real correlation between tax rate and current unemployment. Today I logged on and both posts had been deleted.

I'm guessing that it may have been to do with it being off topic, but Locke's post had already gone there and wasn't deleted. Were there special circumstances there? Or am I missing the point of the deletion entirely?

I also noticed the topic appears to have been moved from another forum, so he could've posted it while it was on the other forum, although I thought that happened a long time ago and it had just been gravedug.

It would appear that our friend Rocky is posting from India and is in process of trying to accumulate enough posts to be accepted here so he can start spamming links. Unfortuantely, when too many of his posts make no sense it tends to give him away.
