Nando's Franchise
Any one know why there is no Nando's franchise here in Singapore? Don't you think it would do well here? Has it been tried before?
There are a couple of other piri-piri chicken joints here already, saw one in Iluma the other day. Didn't seem to be wildly successful...

Re: Nando's Franchise
I enquired a few years ago (2006) about buying the master franchiser rights for this, but was told it was already secured.xtasy010 wrote:Any one know why there is no Nando's franchise here in Singapore? Don't you think it would do well here? Has it been tried before?
I am speculating whoever owns it for Malaysia has somehow managed to include Singapore as a part of their licence/territory.
The official reason given to us by Nando's HQ a few years ago was that it wasn't open as yet in Singapore because of fear of bird flu.
isn't there a similar chicken place in Vivo?
forget the name, but i thot it was Nando's or something similar. the food is similar, i believe. i tried it once.
why aren't there any mexican fast food restaurants here? not even a taco bell, i rem there was a KFC that served some of taco bell's menu but it wasn't close to being the same taste. is there no market or taste for mexican food here?

Definitely a taste for Mexican food... just not fast food joints like Tacky Smell.cmarun wrote:forget the name, but i thot it was Nando's or something similar. the food is similar, i believe. i tried it once.

There is a Cafe Iguana near my place on Greenwood, and they do a very good representation of Tex Mex, although the best Mexican food I have found is in KL.
