The next (Non)Whine-and-Dine

Postby mauvecloud » Tue, 20 Oct 2009 2:05 am

For some odd reason, it's my karma to organize the next session.

Date: Friday October 23 or 30th (vote!)

Time: 7.30pm

Venue: Bugis

I suggest Bugis this time. I have in mind a Straits Chinese restaurant, BUT i'm open to any other suggestions!

reviews are mixed:

=============================

For those needing their Friday night drinks, I'm not sure whether this place is licensed to serve alcohol. However, there are plenty of watering holes within walking distance:

(Don't ask me. I've never been in any of those pubs before in my life. There's a first time for everything :D)

=============================

Please post intent/non-intent/counter-suggestions, etc!

I'm in for this Friday, Oct. 23rd.

Oct. 30th might be difficult due to Halloween parties going on that weekend.

I think we should open this up to a wider range of people. I suggest posting this in the dinner buddies thread.

... was bored so I spammed a couple other threads with a link to Mauvecloud's event.. Hopefully we land a few more people to attend.

I'm gonna assume so far the list is:

1. Mauvecloud
2. Davidplato
3. Nakatago
4. Steve-R
5. Lilynova, if we didn't scare her away from last time?

David promises to break out his dance moves if Bubblegal and Choya show up this time.

Lilynova can't make it this Friday;

on 30 oct there is apparently a halloween thing going on somewhere on some thread. she promised to link us to the thread.

But what about this Friday? I'm okay with small group , but i understand some people may not like it if there are less than, say, 5 people.

O Hidden One, may we have your Decepticon wisdom?

I thought giving the incentive of seeing David bust out his dance moves would definitely increase the turnout.

I can always SMS David's fan club to see if their interested in joining this Friday.

The FNDC just posted this for Old Hallow's Eve: http://forum.singaporeexpats.com/ftopic64721.html

Maybe it's that?

About this Friday, I'm actually neutral about it. 8-)

I mean, we could always buy some six packs, some ingredients to cook and hang out in someone's **cough**mauvecloud's**cough** flat.

We have totally hijacked this thread... What about the others, wouldn't they want to join our little, happy-happy, joy-joy, still-single-and-fast-approaching-if-not-already-there-30's, motley crew?

Lilynova: I dont have preferences. Let me know yours! Whichever, I'll go cosplaying as nothing creepier than ... moi.

Nakatago: re thread hijack yeah, our bad. re party at flat - i wish i could. i'm still renting half a condo, and wouldnt want to traumatized the landlords. somedaaaay
