Postby simikoyithanary » Thu, 09 Jul 2009 4:56 pm

Hi ,

Myself and my husband are planing to move to singapore..
We tried searching jobs at jobportals ,but they give preference to singapore PR .

Can i apply for a work permitor employment pass or PR from India.
Also let me know is there any consultancy which help people relocate to singapore.

If you have the right qualifications, you can apply for LPR) Landed Permanent Residency. Start here for that:

http://www.ica.gov.sg/page.aspx?pageid=151&secid=150

about 2/3's the way down the page.

Otherwise, no you cannot apply for a work permit. Actually, only the prospective employer can file for the employment pass. Employee cannot even if they are here in Singapore. The Employment Pass is tied to the employer.

Once you have the IPA you can come to Singapore and you have up to one year to find a job.

however, LPR is not guaranteed. It is bit costly. but never give up the chances. just try.
