Loves Singapore but...........

Post by Special Girl » Fri, 03 Jul 2009 12:17 pm

Stuck for Saturdaynight, and not sure what to do.

What events are happening around Singapore, or anyone looking to hang out or anything special? I love dancing, but I am in my 30's so don't like to go anywhere, where the peeps are all like in their teens. ;) I also love TENNIS witha PASSION, so anyone who loves the game, let me know, I would love another tennis buddy to play with, who takes the game seriously.

Arrived here from australia, and want to meet more people, doesnt matter what nationality or sex,as long as you are a nice, decent person.;-)

Special Girl - welcome to the forum and to Singapore. As a first step, have a look through the Time Out Singapore website - they also have a mailing list with weekly activities. Also, keep your eye on the 30's thread, those guys organise various outings from time to time.

On Tuesdays there is a trivia night - although it's in a state of flux at the moment as the usual place has postponed it - look for the popular Pub Quizzes thread.

If you are into expat-Aussie stuff, I've noticed some get together for some of the footy matches at some of the sports-type bars along the river. In terms of tennis, there have been a few recent postings on tennis partners wanted, discussion about coaches etc. Try using the forum search, which is located on thr top right hand side of the forum screens - use the search icon, not the search entry box (which searches the whole site, not just the forum).

Once again welcome to SinEx and to Singapore...Mr. P

Thanks kindly mister P.

Not really into footy (yeah ,even back home in australia:) but definitely will look further on the site for the tennis.

I see there is a get together tonight at the hogs breath. I want to go along, but not sure how I will know who the group is????

Special Girl - always an issue!!! We've found that with the trivia nights.

My suggestion would be to look for a group of obviously expat people, and just ask! If they aren't, then you can always introduce yourself and meet new people!!!

I take your point about the footy - I mentioned it only because some people, once they first arrive, like to have something from "back home" to cling onto, and other people are just died in the wool footy fans (insert sport of choice where appropriate!).

If something is coming up I'll be happy to PM you with the details - my wife and I have a pretty cool set of friends from all over the globe here. Also, do keep in mind the trivia nights - a few of the regulars (inluding us) can't make it over the next couple of weeks but they are a great bunch of people but we have some people continuing to fly the flag so give that a go!

Cheers, P

:o

it is a very sad view of old, fat, drunk (and mainly) white guys without a pinch of self image, a bad case of yellow fever and a fat wallet trying to grab some cheap sex with persons who could or could not have been (originally) a female...

i do enjoy to laugh at their misery sometimes, but more often than not, it is just annoying...

the band at inmsoniac it is quite ok, though

have fun and hope you meet some cool people later.

take care.

34yr English girl, just arrived in Singapore and wanting to meet some other people and go to places which are not full of teenages.

Gutted I missed tonight !!! On reading the posts they sound a good night out, when and where is the next event likely to be, as eager to attend.
