Your opinions please..

Hello to all, I have been reading the forum for several months and have found it to be second to none for information and insight so my thanks to all who contribute. We are a British family living in New England with two children 7 and 11 who are US/British nationals they were born in the USA. We have lived here for 12 years and before that in we were in Singapore for 3 years, we will be returning to Singapore in November when and if we leave it will be to the UK so I am looking for schooling that will enable us to phase back to the UK if needed. I am looking for a little insight in to your opinions on my options,
Having followed almost all posts on International Schools, I am considering the CIS school, hoping that there would be similarities to the US but the IB will allow for a smooth transition to the UK if necessary (am I right)? But would like an update on when the new campus when will it be opened, the school were not very clear about dates.
I have come to the conclusion that I am going to be the cause of many future therapy sessions! But don't they always blame the mother? at least my children will have something to complain about... All joking aside any information would be very gratefully received

well - I have some similarities, I am British, lived in the US for some 13 years and came to Singapore 4 years ago - my 6 year old son is in CIS and overall we are very happy with the school. The "new" campus is a bone of contention, they have "broken ground" but are not meeting expectations on completion, which is a concern as many parents have contributed to the fund. I understand they have used some of the fund for the current school complex and have promised an update on the situation shortly. I am not holding my breath for completion of the new school campus any time soon, but as my son is only 6, I am quite happy with the west coast school he goes to, I like the teachers, the relatively small class sizes and most importantly, my son like going to school. We chose CIS for similar reasons, but I have no intention at this stage of going back to the UK - we were just there on a two week vacation and although there are some things I miss, overall, we are happier in Singapore. Bottom line - My youngest is also enrolled in CIS, but since she is only 18 months, it will be a while before she goes, but it is where we intend to send her.

CIS

Thank you for the information on the new school. Do you intend to have your son stay at CIS for the higher grades? I read that some people move out when they reach 6th grade? It is far more important to me that my children are happy and getting a good standard of education than being pushed and stressed. Thank you for your insight

yes, we intend to keep our son there, for exactly the reasons you stated, it is lower stress and a more friendly environment.
